Thank you for your interest in Woodstream Christian Academy! In order to provide a school environment where students can succeed academically and spiritually, specific admissions and enrollment standards have been formulated.

Notice of Non-Discrimination Policy

Woodstream Christian Academy does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational, admission, financial aid or employment policies, or any other programs administered by the school.

Family Referral Program

One of the best forms of advertising for any organization is word-of-mouth, that is why Woodstream Christian Academy has implemented the Family Referral Program for students entering K5-12th grade.

The program is simple, for every student entering K5 - 12th grade you refer to WCA and who enrolls and remains for the complete school year, a credit of $100 (per child that you recommend) will be applied to your family’s tuition account.

Please click here to download a family referral form. A separate form must be completed for each student you refer.

If you should have any questions, please contact the business office at 301.955.1160. Thank you.

Family Service Hours

WCA’s Family Service Hours Program assists in providing a safe and creative environment that builds the bridge from School to Home! Parents, grandparents and other adult family members or guardians may contribute their time by reading to students, volunteering at book fairs, serving on a thesis panel or in the classroom, chaperoning on field trips and at special events, or serving on a committee. WCA requires each family (regardless of how many children attend the Academy) volunteer 10 service hours per school year.

Please click here to access the Family Service Hours online form.

Woodstream Christian Academy is a unique community of teachers, parents, administrators, and students. Our community works together to raise up Christian scholars who will impact the world for Christ. We take an intentional and holistic approach to education, i.e., developing students spiritually, physically, intellectually, emotionally, and socially so that they might be straight, strong and sharp arrows used by Christ for a lifetime.

Woodstream Christian Academy (WCA) provides a rigorous academic program that encourages students to strive for excellence. WCA integrates time-tested classical education teaching methods based on the Trivium. The Trivium consists of three stages, Grammar, Logic and Rhetoric. Each stage is distinct to encourage creative, critical thinking, as well as verbal and written skills. The faculty is committed to providing students with opportunities for independent growth, reasoning skills and developing godly perceptive in a progressive world. The curriculum is infused with the classical methodology across all subject areas including history, mathematics, science, art and music. Essential are the requirements for reading the great works of literature and understanding ancient philosophy.

Tuition Scholarships to Low-Income Families

Woodstream Christian Academy is offering tuition scholarships to low-income families. If your family qualifies for the federal free and reduced lunch program, you may be eligible for a $3,000 scholarship for grades K-6 and $4,000 for grades 7-12.

New Students

Tuition assistance applications are not considered until the admissions application has been completed and the requested tax documents have been received by FACTS. It can take FACTS up to two weeks to process the information and provide Woodstream Christian Academy with a need assessment. The Woodstream tuition assistance committee’s goal is to review the assessment and make a decision within ten days.

Merit Scholarship Application

Woodstream Christian Academy is proud to offer merit scholarships for new, incoming high school students. New students entering grades 9-12 with a minimum 3.5 GPA are eligible for $3,000 scholarships, renewable until graduation. Please apply online.
Exceptional high school students are invited to complete the application to be considered for a Merit Scholarship to Woodstream Christian Academy. Only students of families who have completed the enrollment application and the merit scholarship application will be considered. Deadline: August 7, 2019.
Application for tuition assistance does not affect the admissions decision. Should the amount of assistance offered be insufficient for the family to continue with the student's enrollment, enrollment may be withdrawn and the tuition deposit refunded.

Fine Arts Program
Woodstream offers numerous opportunities for students through our excellent fine arts program – Chancellor’s Ensemble, vocal music, praise and worship band, art, dance, visual arts, musical theater, digital photography, drama, and video production. The Fine Arts Department presents two major drama and musical programs each year. In addition, students participate in regional and national fine arts competitions.

Beyond the Classroom
Scholars may enroll in college and honors courses, participate in athletics and sports (soccer, basketball, volleyball, track and field, cheerleading, swimming, golf clinics, karate), and driver’s education. We also assist School of Rhetoric students in placement in baseball and football leagues.

LAMP (Learn At My Pace)
Woodstream Christian Academy encourages families with students with special needs to apply, which includes students on both ends of the learning spectrum: those who are extraordinarily gifted and those who have learning disabilities.
  • Gifted Students
Specific services offered vary according to grade level and employ a variety of tools including pull-out classes, differentiated work, cluster classes, leveled classes, apprenticeships, and servant leader opportunities. Students are identified for the LAMP Gifted Program based on standardized test scores (above the 95th percentile), teacher recommendation, and parent recommendation. Gifted Rhetoric and Logic students may be placed in a variety of honors, AP and college courses.
  • Students with Learning Challenges
Learning accommodations can be provided to students in the classroom to support those with documented learning needs. Our goal is to treat each student as a precious, unique individual who deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. We provide academic accommodations to give students who learn differently a fair chance to learn and achieve academically.
We invite you to visit our website, schedule a tour and see for yourself Woodstream’s fun, nurturing, and supportive environment where we minister to the heart and prepare students for their next chapter in life. Ask about the thesis process, our global travel program, graduation rate and four-year college acceptances and college scholarship offers. We look forward to meeting you soon!
